Everything that's accomplished through the lower tiered stories helps build up the climax. You get introduced to the Orders and the story gradually unfolds to show how your story is a piece of many in a wider narrative. You start off as all the different races, showing their culture and your role in the world. Is it though? The Personal Story is actually really well constructed as a story but it's really flawed in it's delivery. Of course, then you add in the variances needed for other Chapter 8 like Human+Dead Sister versus not, Norn+Lost Heirloom, Norn+Defend the Mists, etc. One can probably get all that with 7 runs if they play their cards right. The penultimate story step, the Source of Orr, has enough dialogue changes to require a minimum of:Ģ runs for Fear storyline (1 for Apatia plot, 1 for not Apatia)Ģ runs for Priory's plan at Further into Orr (1 for being Vigil, 1 for Priory+Sound of Psi-Lance)Ģ runs for Whisper's plan at Further into Orr (1 for being Vigil, 1 for having met Elli (asura VAL-A or Sylvari C3 optional)ģ runs for Vigil's plan at Further into Orr (1 for being Sylvari+Act With Wisdom, 1 for non-Act With Wisdom+Priory+Shards of Orr, 1 for Norn+Blacked Out)Ĥ runs for generic NPCs (1 for Charr+Iron Legion, 1 for Vigil+Defense Contract, 1 for non-Asura+Whispers+Magic Sucks, 1 for Asura+Whispers) Your friend will be in pain if he intends to see every dialogue variance though.
